Giving the Gift of Presence - Volunteers show their community spirit at Acorns Children's Hospice

Staff from Enpure headed to Acorns Children’s Hospice in Selly Oak, Birmingham on 19 April 2017. The hospice provides care and support, fun and laughter for children with life limiting or life threatening conditions and their families across the heart of England

The volunteering activities formed part of the Enpure Day of Community Service, a global initiative from the Korea-based Doosan Group designed to raise awareness of corporate social responsibility among its  employees worldwide.   The Enpure Day of Community Service is a global initiative that sees up to 8,400 Doosan employees in 20 countries volunteer their time in support of their local communities.

The grounds provide a beautiful, calm and positive environment for all visitors, including playareas, memorial garden and lawns amongst other areas.  The team concentrated on the allotment area, tidying, deweeding the pathway and painting the fence.

Dee McCann, Volunteer Manager of the Hospice commented “Our sincere thanks to our friends from Enpure … what a difference you have made to our allotment area. Our staff and children will be delighted with the results, what a great hardworking and enthusiastic team..they are welcome back any time!!
